A sampling of our work

Intersection is a series created by From the Chairlift Marketing for Red Bull that focuses on the delicate balance of sports and artistic creativity. In the first installment we ride along with Canadian mountain biker and painter Micayla Gatto. Juicy Studios edited the piece which was directed and produced by Lacy Kemp.

DreamRide 2 was the long-anticipated follow up to the award-winning DreamRide for Diamondback Bikes. We wanted to stick to the original formula of beautiful video meets beautiful narrative for round two. Juicy Studios produced this piece again with Mike Hopkins on hand as director. FTC wrote the narrative to continue along the whimsey from round one.

DreamRide

In the fall of 2015 Diamondback Bicycles asked me to come up with a concept for a product launch video for their new suspension platform, LevelLink. It needed to be different and exciting. I'd had the concept for a video similar to this in my mind for a long, long time and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to make it a reality. In conjunction with Juicy Studios out of Rossland, BC, we were able to create the ultimate mountain bike video: DreamRide. Shot over 3 weeks across the western US, DreamRide is the ultimate fantasy in mountain biking. The film took home Best Cinematography at the 5Point Film Festival and was selected as a Vimeo Staff pick.

Bike Magazine: Jill Kintner's Victory Maps

In winter of 2016 we were approached by Bike Magazine to write a short piece on North American mountain biking's leading lady, Jill Kintner. Jill is the most decorated female mountain biker on US soil and happens to have a unique method of memorizing race tracks: by drawing funky little sketches. In this piece we discussed Jill's favorite tracks, favorite drawings, and learn why she is adamant about using this technique. Read the full article here.

Digging Rampage

The 2015 Red Bull Rampage was one for the books. Mountain biking's pinnacle event saw bigger tricks, bigger crashes, and bigger lines throughout the entire event. We traveled south to Virgin, Utah to capture the story of three featured digging crews. The resulting short film showcases the breath of drama, creativity and dedication that goes into building these incredible works of art.

Gear Reviews

From bikes to gloves, we're able to test gear to its limits. Over the course of the last six months we've tested and reviewed six bikes, numerous pieces of apparel and footwear for Bike Magazine. Lost in Place

Lost in Place was a featured project for Diamondback Bikes to showcase their new gravel grinder machine. This is a bike that most people will just ride on dirt roads or concrete, but we wanted to show the capability of the bike in different scenarios. We also wanted to show that while a bike is a great form of transportation and an excellent means of exercise, it's also a gateway to get lost in your thoughts. It's the perfect cathartic release. Beyond the Bike Ep7: Casey Brown

We partnered with DIrt TV and Jasper Wasselman Media to bring you the Beyond the Bike Series. A behind-the-scenes look at mountain biking's most prolific athletes. Beyond the Bike explores why the athletes ride, how they got to the elite level, and what keeps them going when they're not on the bike.

Marketing Guide

In December 2014 we were asked to help with a massive undertaking: create a guide that would help brands - of any type- market to people who practice an active, healthy lifestyle. This could be someone who is dedicated to sport and fitness, someone who is an extremel healthy eater, or even someone who just loves athletic fashion (hello yoga pants!) We teamed up with six individuals to hear their stories of fitness and health and got real-life anecdotal information on brands that are doing it right. The guide should be out in Q2 of 2015.

Optum Pro Cycling Team

In February we flew down to Borrego Springs, California to profile one of America's top professional women's cycling teams during their team camp. We only shot for two days but ended up with a great piece, showcasing the team's strength, the Team Time Trial. The team recently won national championships and is gunning for Worlds in September.

Docady

In fall of 2014 we were tapped to help create a voice for Docady, a start up that focuses on streamlining document managemnt via a simple to use mobile app. Docady had a brand, but they wanted their copy to be human and relatable. We created a voice that was easy going and intelligent, which can be seen throughout the application, the website, and all related email communications.

Micayla Gatto Welcome Video

Often times when riders join new teams they're given a "welcome to the team" video. They usually consist of a few minutes of gratuitous ripping on bikes. At, FTC marketing we like to infuse a little personality into our athlete profile videos. We shot this piece on Micayla Gatto in less than 2 days during the winter solstice. Creativity, humor, and talent makes it gold!
